‼️ Big news from the Fillmore Central School Music Department! ‼️
🎵Seniors Evelyn Chapman and Levi Simanowski have been accepted into 2026 NYSSMA Conference All-State Ensembles—the highest honor for public high school musicians in New York State!
🎵 After receiving perfect/near perfect scores on solo auditions in 2025, both students were selected as Alternates for NYSSMA Conference All-State last winter when they were juniors, but did not get to participate.
🎵They worked tirelessly all school year to prepare new auditions for May 2026 and both earned perfect audition scores again. Their perfect scores, combined with their Alternate status from the year prior earned them spots in this year's ensembles. 🎉
🎵 They will travel to Rochester to perform at the historic Eastman Theatre the first weekend in December.

🎵 Around 6,500 students from all around New York State audition for this honor every year, but only approximately 850 are accepted. It's not common to have two students selected from a rural school like Fillmore, and less common yet to have a saxophone player accepted (only 6-8 are selected from all across the entire state!).
