On Monday we kicked off our new school year and our school P.A.W.S initiative! We encourage our students to follow four main expectations and our faculty and staff reinforce these expectations with panther bucks. Students can then shop for exciting rewards on our panther cart each week and work towards whole school celebrations! This assembly modeling good vs. poor following of school expectations was just the start. We look forward to more celebrations earned by our Ferrum Panthers.

📢 Franklin County Community: Union Hall School Board Vacancy

The Union Hall School Board seat became vacant on July 8, 2026. Per the Code of Virginia, the Franklin County School Board is accepting applications from Union Hall residents to fill this seat until a special election can be held in November.

📌 Who is eligible? To apply, you must be a current Union Hall resident and a qualified voter in the Union Hall election district (Va. Code § 24.2-228).

📝 How to apply:
1. Download the fillable PDF "Application to Serve on School Board" on the Franklin County Public Schools website: https://www.frco.k12.va.us
2. Submit your completed application to the School Board Clerk, Mrs. Mandy Burnette, using one of the methods below.

Franklin County Public Schools is hiring paraprofessionals, and we’d love to meet you!

What is a Paraprofessional?
Often called a para, teacher's aide, or instructional assistant, a paraprofessional works alongside certified teachers to support students and help them succeed.

What You’ll Do:
• One-on-One Support: Work directly with students who need extra physical, emotional, or learning support.
• Small Group Instruction: Lead small study groups while the lead teacher focuses on the rest of the class.
• Classroom Help: Prep lesson materials, help keep students on track, and maintain a positive classroom environment.

We’re sharing our 2026–2027 School Supply Lists early to give families plenty of time to gather the required supplies for the new school year. Individual teachers may also share additional classroom wish lists.

📚 Please bring all school supplies to Open House on Monday, August 3rd, from 11:00 AM–6:00 PM.
