Unfortunately, with the threat of severe storms later this evening, the FFA bingo bites and blue and gold night award ceremony has been canceled. All district events in Ferris ISD are canceled this evening due to the weather. We will try again later to reschedule.

Ferris FFA senior student, Abraham Oliva participated in the creative arts show last week at the 2026 Ellis Co. Youth Expo. He used his welding and metal fabrication skills to build and construct an ornamental rose and a longhorn sculpture made from horseshoes. Abraham won the grand champion and the reserve champion honors in his division. He’s a very talented young man with a bright future ahead of him, help me congratulate Abraham on these well deserved achievements.

Recently Ferris high school ag mechanics students, Alex Cabrera, Andel Suarez, Jayden Mendez, and Brandon Hernandez made two custom built open top swing arm grills and displayed them at the Ellis County youth expo/ ag mechanics project show. The boys had a good day showing together as this was there first time to ever compete in project building contest. These young men placed 3rd and 5th overall in their class. Help me congratulate them.

Giovanni Gutierrez, Jose Juarez, and Aiden Guzman all Junior’s at Ferris high school in the ag welding program, competed this past Monday at the Ellis County youth expo ag mechanics project show in Waxahachie Texas. These students constructed a custom built 36 inch diameter heavy duty outdoor fire pit. Congratulations to these three young men from Ferris high school for winning the fire pit class at the 2026 Ellis County youth Expo.

Ferris High School Ag Welding student Matthew Lee had a good show recently at the annul Ellis County Youth Expo Ag Mechanics project show. Matthew built and constructed a custom fish frying unit and he placed 1st 🥇 in his class ! Congratulations to Matt for his work ethic and dedication to the welding program @ Ferris FFA.

Congratulations to the Ferris Ag Mechanics team, students Justin Lee, Matthew Lee, & David Hansen had a class winning smoker that moved onto to be named Reserve Division Champion in the Outdoor Cooking Class at the 2026 Ellis County Youth Expo Ag Mechanics Project Show earlier this week.
