Please make sure that your checking emails and parents square for your 6th grade orientation coming up this month. They will also post it on the Vista Middle School fb page and the sign outside of the school. Please spread the word and share that it will be happening. We will post it as soon as we know when. We encourage all 6th grade parents to attend and check Vista out. Your next opportunity to do so will be parent/teacher conferences generally at the beginning of Nov. The change between 5th and 6th grade is very defining in your students livelihood at school. The dynamics between each grade and how the kiddos change within their friendships and groups is not to be dismissed. A lot of kids struggle with the change. Vista has an excellent staff that can help navigate these situations. The more you know and the more that you are involved in the process and change, is imperative to your students success. In elementary school, they don’t know any different from having you involved. They recognize the lack of it in middle school. They become embraced in peer pressure and puberty. They thrive when seeing their parents being involved. I’m signing off and passing this flame off to your PTSO board members.
