Here is some information about graduation!
June 5, 2020
Dear FES 8th Grade Families:
After meeting with Mrs. Anderson and the Ferndale Police Department as well as using the current county health department guidelines, we have a plan set for the 8th grade graduation next week.
The graduation ceremony will be Thursday, June 11, at approximately 8:00 pm in the Ferndale High School parking lot. We ask that families start to arrive at 7:30 pm. Cars will enter through the west parking lot gate (by the tennis courts) and be assigned a parking spot. Each graduate will only be allowed one vehicle per student (please see the guidelines on the following page) and that vehicles follow the instructions of staff. We will have staff members checking in cars, giving directions, and assisting with the ceremony. We ask that you be patient with the entire process. The graduation ceremony will take place regardless of weather conditions.
Friends and family who are not able to attend have the opportunity to watch via livestream on the “Ferndale Elementary School and Parent Club” page. Families can also watch the virtual presentation of speeches and photos at the following website www.ferndaleelementary.com , anytime after 8:30pm, on Thursday, June 11. The website will be available to access for one year.
Timeline of Events:
7:30pm Arrival and parking
8:00pm (approx.) Presentation of the graduates and diplomas
9:00pm (approx.) Virtual ceremony on big screen
10:00-10:30pm Departure / check-out / gown return
***NOTE: Due to public health regulations, there will be NO RESTROOMS available for the ceremony. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, so please plan accordingly!
The FES staff would like to thank you for your cooperation during this event. We understand that these are not ideal circumstances and that sacrifices have to be made for this event to happen. We would also like to thank Amanda Orr for the time and effort that she put into creating the virtual ceremony and website.
