In part due to the loss of men necessary to crew the ships from the asian theater, the U.S. Navy (after operation Magic Carpet) scrapped or deactivated all but 4 of the 24 battleships, hundreds of carriers and destroyers like in this picture, taken after the war at
San Diego Naval Station, California.

Peg Leg Pete update:
The restoration is being 100% FUNDED by the HFBA. Historic Fernandina Business Association.
The Maritime Musuem, Fernandina Pirates Club, Iron Deuces metal works, DownTown maintenance and several other organizations & businesses (more to be announced) are working together providing manpower to repair peg leg the pirate
