As we wrap up another wonderful Summer BreakSpot season here in Nassau County, we simply want to say thank you!💙
Whether you joined us at one of our meal sites for breakfast, lunch, or both, or participated in one of our non-congregate meal distribution sites, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your summer. We hope you enjoyed a nutritious meal, made a new friend or two, and created some wonderful memories along the way.
This summer, we were excited to launch our new 7-day meal distribution site at Callahan Intermediate School! Douglas, who is based out of the CIS cafeteria, enjoyed handing out meal kits, books, lunch totes, surprise snacks, and other fun giveaways throughout the summer.
At our congregate meal sites, children enjoyed delicious meals, movies, giant wooden games, coloring, activities, giveaways, and time spent with friends. At our non-congregate meal distribution sites, the smiles, kind words, and heartfelt thank-you notes from families truly meant the world to our team.
As we prepare for the start of a new school year and our in-service next week, we are so grateful to have been a small part of your summer. Thank you to all of the children, families, staff, and volunteers who helped make this Summer BreakSpot season such a success.
