As we continue to enjoy summer and prepare for the year ahead, Mr. Renta shares a timely reflection on what it truly means to be a Christlike leader. Drawing from FCA’s mission and the example of Jesus Himself, this devotional challenges us to lead with sacrifice, service, sincerity, sober-mindedness, and submission.
📖Take a few moments to be encouraged and reminded that our greatest influence comes not only from what we teach, but from who we are becoming in Christ.
“Hello All,
I trust you're having a blessed summer. As both educators and students take a well-deserved summer break from school, the thought crossed my mind about FCA's mission statement. (Yes, educators never stop thinking and educating). I thought about the term - CHRISTLIKE LEADER; let me explain. Our mission statement reads:
Discipling students through faith, character, and academic excellence, to become CHRISTLIKE LEADERS in their communities and the world. I'm passionate about fulfilling our mission, so the thought came to me, "How would I define a CHRISTLIKE LEADER?" Well, one only has to turn to CHRIST HIMSELF. For some unexplained reason, I thought of the 5 vowels of the alphabet: A E I O U. I had a visual picture of each of these vowels in a word that would describe Jesus' (Christlike) leadership. Here's what I came up with:
CHRISTLIKE leaders are:
sAcrificial - Jesus paid it all, for you and me. (John 3:16, 19:30)
sErvant-oriented - Jesus came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:28, Mark 10:45)
sIncere - Jesus' motives were pure; He desired only to glorify the Father, with no other agenda. (John 17:4)
sObering - the Bible reminds us to be sober-minded (2 Timothy 4:5a, ESV)
sUbmissive - although He was (and is) God, He submitted Himself, even to His earthly parents. (Luke 2:51)
We're not just educating students; we too are to: sacrifice, be servant-oriented, sincere, sober-minded, and submissive...to those appointed over us.
As John Maxwell states, "We teach what we know, but we reproduce who we are."
Let's get some good rest over the summer so we can return and DISCIPLE STUDENTS...TO BECOME CHRISTLIKE LEADERS..."
In His service,
Marc Renta

Today we want to give a special shout out and thank you to two of our Upper Campus teachers who have served our school for years: Sara Beth Reaves and Michelle Walsh. Sara Beth has been one of our math teachers for over 5 years and Michelle has been our Spanish teacher for 7 years. They will not be returning next year (sadly) but have served the FCA families/teachers/staff so well we had to make a post. Thankfully we will still see them around as Sara Beth is a FCA mom, is involved in FCA mission trips, and will be back a substitute teacher. Michelle is a FCA Board member! They pour their hearts into FCA and we love them both!!!

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a family can make. We're grateful for families who trust FCA to partner with them in discipling their children and helping them grow academically, spiritually, and personally. Here's what one of our FCA families shared with us about their experience:
"When we were searching for a Christian school, we wanted more than strong academics. We wanted a place that would help our children know, love, and serve the Lord.
After two years at FCA, we've seen exactly that. From the classroom to athletics, clubs, mentorship, outreach opportunities, and everyday interactions, FCA's faculty and staff consistently point students to Jesus. We've watched our children grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, and be challenged to live out their faith.
As parents of six children with different academic needs, we've also been grateful for the individualized support and encouragement FCA provides. Our children are challenged academically without losing sight of what matters most: growing as Christ followers.
What stands out most about FCA is its commitment to discipling students and developing both the mind and the heart. Students are loved, nurtured, and encouraged to see the world through a biblical worldview as they prepare to serve Christ wherever He leads.
God has faithfully used FCA to impact our children and strengthen our family, and we are deeply grateful for the investment this school has made in our lives."
