⚾️ Bullpen Break Friday! ⚾️

Today, Dr. Weber took the mound! 🧢 While teachers headed to the “bullpen” during their recess time, Dr. Weber stepped in to cover recess and spend some quality time playing with our Little Pirates. 🏴‍☠️

Teachers had the opportunity to use their break to catch up on work, recharge, or simply take a moment for themselves—while students enjoyed some extra playtime with the principal! 💙

It’s all about supporting our teachers, building relationships with students, and making every moment count!

⚾ Calling All Grandparents! ❤️

Southside Elementary’s Little Pirates are excited to invite our grandparents to a very special Grandparents’ Night In! 🏴‍☠️

Join us for an evening filled with music, food, art activities, and quality time with your Little Pirate. We’ll be showcasing our fine arts program while making memories together that will last a lifetime! 🎶🍽️🎨

⏰ 5:00–6:30 PM
💙 FREE EVENT!
👵👴 Limit of two grandparents per child

📌 RSVP by September 4th using the QR code on the flyer. Once your RSVP is received, your student will receive a ticket for the event.

🍍🍑 Building Our Classroom Family! 🍌

Ms. Aarons’ first grade class had a fun and meaningful lesson on school-wide rules and expectations! After reading Our Class Is a Family, students discussed the qualities they want to see in their classroom family—kindness, respect, sharing, responsibility, and caring for our classroom.

Students then participated in a fruit salad object lesson. Each fruit represented a positive classroom characteristic, while two rotten bananas represented the behaviors we don’t want in our classroom. 🍌😂

The lesson ended with students enjoying their delicious fruit salad while celebrating the positive classroom community they are working together to create! 💙🏴‍☠️

🏴‍☠️⚾ PBIS Celebration: Through the Diamond! ⚾🏴‍☠️

We’re excited to celebrate our Little Pirates who are showing what it means to Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Kind, and Be Respectful! 💙❤️

From August 24th through October 9th, students will have the opportunity to earn an invitation to our PBIS Celebration: Through the Diamond! Students who meet the celebration criteria during this time period will be personally invited to attend. 🎉

To earn an invitation, students must:
⚾ Have no more than 3 absences
⚾ Have no more than 3 tardies
⚾ Have no FOCUS referrals
⚾ Have zero bus infractions/referrals
⚾ Have no classroom discipline forms

We can’t wait to recognize and celebrate our students who are making positive choices and helping make Southside a great place to learn! 🌟

Keep making good choices, Little Pirates—you just might earn your invitation to celebrate! 🏴‍☠️⚾

Donations needed! Our Health Room is in need of athletic type shorts in all sizes, for both boys and girls. If you have any to donate, you can send them in with your child or drop them off in the front office. Thanks for your support!

⚾️ What a FIRST DAY! 🏴‍☠️💙

We officially kicked off an EPIC new school year, and our Little Pirates hit it out of the park! ⚾️💥

From bright smiles and excited hellos to new friendships, learning, and lots of first-day memories, today was filled with so many wonderful moments. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for our amazing faculty and staff who worked together to make the first day such a success!
