Heads Up! The KFHB Open House & Airport Master Plan Review is coming on October 24, 2026, from 10am to 2pm. This event is free and open to the public, with two goals:

First is to showcase all the different activities that occur at the airport, including the many different types of aircraft that use the airport regularly, and those that provide beneficial services to the Community.

The second goal is to give the public a chance to review and comment on the Airport Master Plan Update which is going through its standard 10-year cycle.

EAA Chapter 943 will be offering Charity Flights, allowing people to view the natural beauty of our island from the air. Proceeds from these flights will go toward our Aerospace Education fund, from which we provide flight training scholarships through the Nassau School District's aviation training program.

We hope to see you on October 24!

EAA Chapter 943 Monthly meeting will be on August 5, 2026 at 6:30 pm in the Airport Conference room. And Hot Dog Day returns on Saturday after a one-month hiatus. Dogs are served by 11:30 at the EAA Hangar...come early and come often!

Congrats to EAA Chapter 1725 in Waycross, GA for their first fly-in on Saturday June 13. We helped them celebrate by getting 8 or 9 aircraft and 13 Chapter 943 members up from Fernandina Beach. It was a great day to congregate and talk about airplanes!

We completed a fantastic Young Eagles Workshop Summer Camp this week. Fifteen Young Eagles from the area participated in a series of workshops to learn about airplanes, aerodynamics, weather, communications...basically a mini-ground school to give them a head start on becoming pilots. Thanks to the kids, the parents, and all the Chapter members who helped out with the week. We look forward to 2027!

Hot Dog Day this month coincides with the anniversary of D-Day, so to honor the special relationship between aviation and the military, and recognize all those who have served, we are dubbing it HD-Day! Come enjoy free food and camaraderie and no small amount of hangar flying. Dogs are served starting at 11:30 at Hangar 1 at the Fernandina Beach airport.
