Johnson-Wabash Teacher of the Year

Mr. Antonio Griffin is a dedicated and compassionate teacher who has taken his lifetime passion and involvement in music and developed a musical program that excites and educates our students. Mr. Griffin writes and obtains grants to support the program at Johnson Wabash. His work with community agencies in coordinating the experience aspects of the curriculum allows our students to access music through various forms. He treats all of the Johnson-Wabash scholars with great dignity and respect. He has helped us create a positive environment that is very child-oriented and focuses on building positive self-esteem through high standards, specific praise, and well-designed instruction. His natural ability to listen responsively to our students and staff has contributed to the respect he is awarded by those who work with him daily. We much appreciate his enthusiasm and willingness to use music to reach students who have difficulty realizing academic success. We are proud to name, Mr. Griffin, a teacher with a contagious passion for helping ALL students, our 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year.
