Enjoy storytelling, snacks, face painting, prizes, games and activities -- and every child who attends will receive a free book while supplies last. Ferguson-Florissant Superintendent Dr. Art McCoy met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Tony Miller at Harris-Stowe State University (HSSU) on Sept. 19. Miller visited St. Louis during a stop on the U.S. Department of Education’s third annual “Education Drives America” bus tour.

We are proud of the fact that we remain fully accredited with 9 state standards; however, we are on the cusp of reaching 10 state standards for the first time since the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) 4 if attendance goals are met this school year.
Our target attendance for 2011-12 is 94.3 percent, and as of today and of you, we are on track at 94.4 percent. Your help is needed to encourage each child’s daily attendance each day. We know that when schools combine their efforts with the community we can propel children to the highest heights. So, let’s stay together. I believe in us. Thank you for making great things happen.

We are very proud of the Ferguson-Florissant School District and Bermuda Elementary School for receiving the 2011 Monsanto School of Excellence Award. Also, congratulations to Dr. Art McCoy, Superintendent of Schools, on receiving the 2011 Salute to Excellence Award.
