What a season for Comet track.

They wrapped up the Section 6A Meet, competing through challenging heat. Maddie Miller punched her ticket to the State Track Meet after winning the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.66. Maddie also placed third in the 200-meter dash (26.57), narrowly missing a second state qualification.

The rest of the Comet competitors closed their season at the Section Meet. Drew Fischer ran a personal-best 52.89 in the 400 to earn 4th place, while Isaac Hamilton also posted a personal-best 54.52 to finish 8th. Maverick Peterson battled to a 5th-place finish in the 800 with a season-best time of 2:05. The boys 4x200 relay team of Maverick Peterson, Drew Fischer, Isaac Hamilton, and Eli Walkup finished 7th, while the girls 4x400 relay team of Ella Knutson, Elsa Retzlaff, Isla Frobish, and Claire Haus placed 5th.

Congratulations to every Comet athlete and coach on a tremendous season. We’re looking forward to proudly cheering on Maddie as she carries the Comet colors to the State Track & Field Meet next week!

There are 3 Comets waking up this morning as state golf qualifiers

Sean Berge earned 4th place, Samuel Swensen 5th place, and Alexa Ewan 7th place after the two-day Section Meet. The boys' team fought back to 3rd in the Section Tournament, too, but didn't advance as a team to State.
