Save the Date!

Join JR Automation, as we celebrate International Women in Engineering Day, observed on June 23rd, by hosting a panel discussion of women engineers.

Attending this panel means you'll get to hear from panelists, four of our very own incredibly intelligent and experienced women engineers, as they share their unique experiences and answer questions from attendees.

A direct link to join the event will be provided as the panel approaches.

3D printed parts for the new intake system are coming along great! Black parts are ABS and orange parts are PLA. ABS parts are being printed on a Creality CR-10 Mini and the PLA parts are being printed on a Creality Ender 3 Pro. Eight more parts to go for a total of 40-50 hours of print time left. Can’t wait to get it on the robot. GO ROBOHAWKS!!! 🟠⚫️🤖

First run printing with the ABS filament didn’t work out so well. Lots of warping. So I did some research and realized we needed to add an enclosure to our 3D printer, raise the bed temps and turn off the part cooling fan. So what do you do when you are a robotics team and need to make a quick enclosure on a Sunday afternoon? You improvise! We used the robot side panels from our 2018 “Power Up” season robot, attached some aluminum angles and 1” square stock across the top and used a new tarp we had donated to us a couple years ago. It’s actually working really good. I checked on the print around 4 hours in to an 8 hour print job and so far so good. We will see how it came out in the morning. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!!! 🤞🏼🍀🟠⚫️🤖

Thank you to one of our sponsors this year Mad Panda Productions for the donation of two 3D printers and 8 spools of black filament. Finally got the Creality CR-10 Mini up and running and putting it to work along with our other 3D printers making robot parts. 🟠🤖⚫️

This season our FRC/FTC Alliance team are going to be doing a lot of “First’s” for us. One of them is submitting a video for the Digital Animation Award. This is a huge step for our teams and this is the trial run video. We need to tweak some things and change the frames per second format but it came out amazing so far. Great work to the Awards Sub-Team, we can’t wait to see the final presentation!

With about 3 hours of hard work this afternoon, the new Robotics Lab is just about put together at its new home and ready to kickoff the 2021 season this week! We still have more work to do this week and some organizing but at least we have it ready to go! Keep posted for practice/season details for the unique season we will be having as we will be in an alliance with our FTC team (middle school) to compete in the FRC competition together!
