🆕 Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors throughout CESA 3 met for last Friday's Youth Apprenticeship/Carl Perkins Designee Meeting to learn of new initiatives and share all the wonderful things happening in Southwest Wisconsin in all things CTE.

🚑 Our first Designee Meeting of the school year focused on expanding student career opportunities and streamlining support for schools. Highlights included a reintroduction to Xello as well as numerous Academic and Career Planning updates, the Rural Health Careers Academy pilot serving 19 districts across three counties, and Youth Apprenticeship updates.

🗒 The new CESA 3 YA Dashboard was introduced to simplify paperwork and allow more time for student and employer connections. Additional topics included Carl Perkins budgets, advisory councils, career fairs, IRC+, and proposed services for 2027–28.

🎨 CESA 3's recent Canva Beginner Boot Camp brought K-12 educators together for a hands-on day of learning and creativity! Participants explored Canva’s free premium education tools, learning the basics of the platform, and discovering new ways to create interactive lessons, screencasts, slideshows, whiteboard activities, and more.

💯 CESA recently welcomed new and veteran Gifted and Talented coordinators for a productive morning of connecting, sharing best practices, and planning ahead to elevate gifted education across their districts!

🗒 From evaluating program impact to exploring ways to challenge advanced learners, the morning was a success for educators from Riverdale School District, Pecatonica Area School District, School District of Black Hawk, Dodgeville School District, Richland School District, Ithaca Public Schools, Barneveld School District, and Iowa-Grant School District.

🗒 Superintendents and higher education partners gathered at CESA 3 for the monthly Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) on Oct. 2.

✅ A representative from UW-Madison shared their new AI and Computing program and the challenges and opportunities associated with AI.

✅ University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Southwest Tech shared updates that were directly related to our districts.

✅ Financial advisors from Baird shared several examples of how increased assessments do not necessarily mean a tax increase.
