It was a great day representing Southwest Tech at Sielaff Corporation annual golf outing!

Dennis Cooley, Executive Director of Advancement; Jake Johnson, Workforce Development and Employer Engagement Coordinator; Stacia Stephenson, Director of Advancement; and Dr. Jeremy Pickard, President of Southwest Tech, were proud to join Sielaff in supporting this great organization and its commitment to our communities.

Sielaff Corporation is a valued partner of Southwest Tech, hiring our students and graduates, providing scholarships to support our students, and collaborating with us on future projects and workforce opportunities.

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐭!

We are excited to have new technology in our Accounting classrooms, including dual monitors and docking stations that simulate the technology students will use in today’s accounting and business workplaces.

Our goal is to keep our Accounting program current with technology trends and give students real world experiences right in the classroom. Students are not just learning accounting concepts, they are learning how technology is used to complete the work they will be doing in their careers.

One of the great things about the SWTC Accounting program is flexibility. Our Accounting degree is offered in both face-to-face and online formats, giving students the flexibility to choose the learning environment that works best for them. Our online students have the opportunity to come to campus and use the new technology in our Accounting classrooms when it works for their schedule.

We are proud to provide our students with a learning environment that reflects the modern workplace, while still giving them the flexibility they need to be successful.
Accounting education is changing, technology is changing, and Southwest Tech is keeping up with both!

There’s no better way to get to know Southwest Wisconsin than spending time with the people who make it such a special place!

Southwest Tech President Dr. Jeremy Pickard and Farm Business Production Manager Kory Stalsberg spent time at the Grant County Fair, visiting with students, alumni, community partners, and friends of the College along the way.

They caught up with Grant County Fair- Wisconsin Director Amy Olson - you put on a great event, Amy! He also met with Grant County Board Chair Robert Keeney, and heard from Arin Crooks, Lancaster Agricultural Research Station Manager, and Jaclyn Bevan with State Farm Insurance about the importance of Southwest Tech internships and the students their organizations have hosted.

Dr. Pickard even had a chance to talk with Bob Mittendorf, a familiar voice in agriculture radio throughout our region!

One of the best parts of the visit was meeting Southwest Tech students exhibiting projects at the fair and seeing firsthand the talent, hard work, and pride they bring to our communities.

Thank you to everyone who took a few minutes to welcome Dr. Pickard and share their Southwest Tech story. Our students, alumni, and community partners are at the heart of what we do, and we are proud to be part of the communities we serve.

Congratulations, Derek! Have a great year!

We are thrilled to welcome Derek Kephart to the Bulldog family! 🎉

Derek is joining Boscobel Elementary as a 3rd grade teacher this year! He attended Southwest Technical College and UW-Platteville and grew up in Fennimore, WI with his parents and one older sister.

In his free time, Derek enjoys hunting, fishing, and cooking. He's looking forward to getting to try new things every day and joining an amazing 3rd grade team!

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐌𝐓 𝐏𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞

Southwest Wisconsin Technical College’s efforts to strengthen emergency medical services across the region are already showing results, with 38 students participating in the college’s most recent EMT class in Dodgeville.

The class was offered at two Dodgeville locations, the EMS station/garage and the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, as Southwest Tech continues expanding access to EMS education through a $109,375 state Emergency Medical Services Education Grant.

And when we say we want to hear your story, we really mean your story.

Maybe you’re a brand-new student and can share what brought you to Southwest Tech and what you hope this experience will mean for your future.

Maybe you’re a current student who found your confidence, discovered the career that feels right for you, had an instructor make a difference, gained experience through an internship or overcame challenges along the way.

Or maybe you’re a Southwest Tech graduate who can share where your education has taken you and how your experience here helped shape where you are today.

Whatever part of your Southwest Tech journey is meaningful to you, we would love to hear about it!

Today is the first day of classes for the new academic year. It was great to see campus buzzing again with students, instructors and plenty of first-day energy.

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

Yesterday was a great day of connecting with some of Southwest Tech’s incredible alumni, partners and community supporters!

Dr. Jeremy Pickard, Southwest Tech President and Stacia Stephenson, Director of Advancement, visited the Railroad Historical Society Museum, where alumnus Tom Parrish has volunteered for many years. They also met Henry, who helps out at the museum.

Tom and his wife, Linda, are both alumni, as are their two children. The family has been a wonderful supporter of the college and continues to serve as ambassadors for Southwest Tech. Thank you, Tom, for the tour and for sharing the history behind this special community treasure!

The day also included a stop at WCC Brands in Kieler, for a visit and tour with Corey Kaiser and Tom Pickle. WCC has been a valued Southwest Tech partner, and Corey and Tom are dedicated community members who give back to the communities they serve. Thank you for showing the team around and sharing some of the quality work and products being produced at WCC!

Days like this are a great reminder that Southwest Tech’s impact extends well beyond campus. We’re grateful for the alumni, partners and community members who strengthen our region and help make Southwest Tech such a special place.
