𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🏐

Southwest Tech’s women’s club volleyball team has begun practicing for its inaugural season under Head Coach Jerica Henkel. The team practices Monday and Wednesday evenings and has also scrimmaged against Highland High School. The fall schedule is intentionally relaxed, with the team preparing for a more rigorous spring season that will include tournament play.

𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭

On Oct. 5, members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Formula SAE (FSAE) team visited our Automotive Technician program to showcase their Formula SAE race car.

Formula SAE is an international collegiate engineering competition organized by SAE International. Student teams design, build, fabricate, and race small, open-wheel, formula-style vehicles.

The visit began with a classroom presentation, where team members discussed the car’s design and engineering. Students then had the opportunity to get an up-close look at the vehicle during a walk-around, followed by a driving demonstration at our track facility.

Housing is essential to building strong communities across Southwest Wisconsin!

On November 10, community leaders, housing professionals, and regional partners will come together at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College for the Southwest Wisconsin Housing Summit!

This event will bring people together to explore housing challenges, share innovative solutions, and identify opportunities to strengthen communities throughout our region.

We're especially excited that the summit will include a walking tour of Southwest Tech's student housing, highlighting one way our college is helping address local housing needs.

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠! 💙💛

As part of Fire Prevention Week, Dillin Meier, from the Glen Haven Fire Department, visited the Child Care Center today. The children tried on firefighter gear and used the fire truck hose. Dillin also presented information about fire safety and showed them what he does as a firefighter.

Dillin is the brother of Abby Meier, Lead Childcare Teacher/Assistant Director at the Southwest Tech Child Care Center.

Thank you, Dillin, for taking time for our young friends! And, thank you for your service to our community! As you can tell by their smiles, they had a great time!

The colorful game board, scattered dice, and creative composition come together to make this photo stand out. Claire's use of focus and depth of field helps draw attention to the dice while adding dimension and visual interest to the scene. She captured the shot using a shutter speed of 1/4000 and an aperture of f/1.8, freezing the action while creating a beautifully blurred background.

Our Building Trades–Carpentry students reached another exciting stage of the Lancaster spec home project this week: putting the trusses in place!

The project is giving students the opportunity to put their skills to work on a real home and gain hands-on experience from the ground up.
