Fellsmere Residents - we need your help!
We are launching a hands-on Sugarcane Project that will connect our students with the agricultural history of the community they call home.
Sugarcane played an important role in Fellsmere’s early development, and rather than simply reading about that history, we want our students to grow it, harvest it, process it, and learn from the people who know this community best.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for local residents, longtime Fellsmere families, farmers, historians and businesses who may have:
- Sugarcane plants or cuttings to donate
- Farming knowledge, equipment or expertise
- Old photographs, stories or historical information
- An interest in volunteering or partnering with our students
Our goal is simple: connect education with Fellsmere’s roots while teaching agriculture, history, science and entrepreneurship through a real-world project.
