posted to this web site will be monitored. The district reserves the right to delete

(1) Spam or include links to other sites;
(2) Clearly off topic;
(3) Advocate illegal activity;
(4) Promote particular services, products, or political organizations
(5) Infringe on copyrights or trademarks
(6) Use personally identifiable medical information. Commercial advertising content on this site is not controlled or endorsed by Federal Way
Public Schools. Social media are called that because they allow for interaction – for a conversation to take
place between you and your students’ parents, the community and sometimes even
students. Unfortunately, the anonymity offered online can encourage people to say things
that they might not otherwise. You’ll find it helpful to define the rules of conduct for your
page, as in the following example:
We've created our page to be an informal, quick information source
about our school district. We welcome your participation and look forward to
interacting with you here. We want the experience to be as positive as possible for all of us. So here are
some simple and, we think, fair guidelines for participation.
1. We will delete personal attacks, inappropriate remarks or
profanity on our page.
2. Be focused. This page is about the Federal Way school district and
supporting our students and staff; so let’s keep the conversation focused on
that. Business plugs, personal issues, and political banter all have a place on
Facebook – just not on this particular page.
3. Be involved. We welcome your feedback on our postings and we hope you’ll
comment when something grabs your attention. We also appreciate it when
you keep comments focused on the topic of the post. And if you have ideas
about what you’d like to see included on our page, we would love to hear from
you. We hope you’ll encourage others with a passion for education to find us
and follow us here on Facebook. That’s it! Pretty simple, right? And if you have comments or questions, just
message us.
