5 years ago we lost our Uncle Elias Ferrer (aka. Daktari Eli, Mwalimu Eli, or to us Tito Beng). He was an incredible mentor, educator, entrepreneur, and family member to his brothers, in-laws, and especially his nieces and nephew both in the US and in the Philippines. He was there to talk when Patrick and I were struggling, took our eldest brother to the Philippines after another significant loss in the family, and spent all his time in the Philippines celebrating with our cousins on the other side of the globe. He gave Patrick and I the opportunity to be our own boss and taught us everything we needed to know to keep Caregiver for Hire, the Elite Learning Institute (our partners for the HCA to CNA Bridge Program), and our sister school in Tacoma, Dr. Eli’s Home Care Training (Ran by Jose Luis and Ren Ren) alive and thriving through very tough economic times. We celebrate the life of Elias Ferrer on the day of his passing, remembering the richness for life he always had. We love and miss you Tito Beng - Patrick and Jonah ❤️
