GOOD NEWS ABOUT GOOD KIDS!

McKenna Phillips is a rising 5th grader at Gallberry Farm Elementary School. She made the A honor roll for the entire year! She is your reigning Junior Miss New Hanover County. She is an official junior volunteer with the Salvation Army of the Sandhills where she loves to help out anytime she can.

She proudly wears the Salvation Army mascot - Captain Kettle and has been able to do the puck drop at Fayetteville Marksmen hockey games and throw out the first pitch with Major Tim Grider at a Fayetteville Woodpeckers baseball game. She also delivers donuts to firefighters, police officers, and first responders for Salvation Army donut day, rings the bell for donations at the red kettle, packs and serves meals at the shelter and helps in the angel tree warehouse each year.

In her free time she loves to swim, play the drums, travel, and do arts and crafts. When she grows up she wants to play in a rock band and hopes to become a police officer.
