It's August, which means it is that time of the year where we team up with Adventure Subaru to share books with the community in Northwest Arkansas. We'll be filling up Little Free Libraries with many of the books that the community has kindly donated to us.

At OLC, we believe that community changes lives, and we are committed to providing free literacy resources to all in NWA. Little Free Libraries provide an accessible and affordable platform to do so.

If you would like to participate in this initiative, you can stop by OLC and we will provide you with some books to fill a Little Free Library near you. This is also a good opportunity to sort through your own books that you are done reading at home. Take a photo and tag us on social media!

Find a Little Free Library near you at https://littlefreelibrary.org/map/

Introducing our summer intern, Megan! We have been so grateful to have Megan join our community. With a passion for supporting our students, she has made learning fun, engaging, and accessible to many adults in Northwest Arkansas! Megan will be doing an Instagram takeover on Tuesday, August 4th, so be sure to tune in to see a day in the life of our intern and a behind the scenes look of our programs. Check out Megan's bio below:

"Hello, my name is Megan Lucas. I am Chicana born and raised in Fayetteville Arkansas. I am a rising junior at Berea College in Kentucky, currently working as a summer intern for the Ozark Literacy Council (OLC) team. I am studying accounting with the ultimate goal of helping minority and low-income families grow their financial and English skills to expand their opportunities.

My dedication to this mission stems from a deeply personal place: watching my own family face financial and literacy constraints that limited their opportunities. Because of this lived experience, I am deeply committed to breaking generational cycles. As a teacher and multifaceted team member, I love growing alongside my students and helping them gain confidence in both financial literacy and English proficiency."
