Introducing our newest addition to the team, Alexys Oliver! She's joining us this year as our new assistant director and we are so excited to have her join in on the fun. Read a little bit about her below and make sure to say hey on Tuesday when we all come back to school after Labor Day!

From Alexys: "Hello everyone! My name is Alexys and I am so thrilled to join Fayetteville First UMC Preschool as the new Assistant Director. I am a wife and mother of three children ages 5, 3 and 2 years old. My degree is in Early Childhood Education and I have a professional background in event planning as well. I grew up in Riverdale, Georgia but have lived in Fayetteville for most of my adult life. Fall is my favorite season although I am a May baby and Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love to eat, sing at church, go to Savannah with my kids, and listen to country music. I love God and I love people and that is my reason. I am looking forward to this school year and many more to come!"

It was “Magna-tile Madness” in the 3s room this week! We built a structure and then added our party-lights in the middle to make it more fun! 🥳 We also played with the Magna-Tiles on the light table and learned how to be patient and place tiles upright for a domino effect. Earlier in the week, we painted a large sheet of paper with rollers and our hands to make a sun for our space themed classroom. The kids put all the tiles on the paper to make an amazing collage. It was such a fun week! 🤍🩷

Today our little artists got to explore, create, and make their own masterpieces! We practiced using dot markers, placing dot stickers, tearing paper, and gluing—all while letting our creativity lead the way! 🖍️

Process art is all about the experience, exploration, and freedom to create rather than having every project look the same. We loved watching each child make their artwork uniquely theirs! 🎨

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

The Fayette County Public Library is excited to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month throughout September. This annual event invites community members to discover all the valuable resources a library card provides — from books and digital media to free programs, technology access, research support, and more.
The library encourages residents without a library card to visit in September and sign up for one. A library card opens the door to lifelong learning, creativity, and connection.

Special Offer for Current Library Card Holders
As part of the celebration, the library will also offer Amnesty for overdue late fees of $10 or less. This limited-time forgiveness applies only to overdue late fees and is available September 1–30. Patrons are invited to stop by, clear their small late fees, and start the season with a clean slate.
“Our goal is to make the library welcoming and accessible for everyone,” says Fayette County Public Library leadership. “Library Card Sign-Up Month is the perfect opportunity to re-engage with the library and enjoy the many free resources we offer.”

Oh what a blessing it is to be faith-based! 🤍
At our preschool, we are overjoyed to be able to say that we make sharing the love of Jesus not just something we do, but a priority of our school. Whether it’s chapel on Thursdays or just our every day classroom circle time, we make the love of God a PRESENT theme in our school. The peace, love, and joy that is felt among our staff is unmatched, and we praise God for that.
