Our Mission
To serve as a multidisciplinary unit for the initiation and conducting of research focusing upon health, exercise, and performance. To provide educational outreach programs for targeted groups with an emphasis on collaborative and cooperative programs with agencies in the state and region. To provide additional educational experiences for our undergraduate and graduate students in exercise science. To emphasize collaborative and cooperative approaches to research and programming.

We’re thrilled to share that Dr. Brendon McDermott has been honored with the Tony A. Mobley International Distinguished Alumni Award from Indiana University Bloomington for demonstrating outstanding personal and professional achievements in fostering the broad missions of public health!
Dr. McDermott is a leading expert in thermoregulation and heat-related illness, directing the Heat & Hydration Optimization (H2O) Lab here at the University of Arkansas.
