In collaboration with the Student Government Association (SGA), the Department of Criminal Justice will be moderating a “Traffic Stops: 101” panel with representatives from local law enforcement agencies and the legal community.
When: Tuesday, March 24th from 2:00 to 3:30pm
Where: RJSC Room 238-240
Special Guest will be present: Cumberland County District Attorney Billy West, Attorney Ron Crosby, Jr., and etc.
This panel will focus on information about your legal rights and police practices during traffic stops, and more. One goal of the panel is to create an opportunity for you to ask police officials and legal experts questions about traffic encounters and how to safely and successfully navigate such encounters. There will be a brief presentation and an extensive question and answer period so that the focus is on addressing your questions and concerns as students and citizens. If you would like to submit questions in advance, please email your questions to Dr. Robert Brown (Moderator) at [email protected], or you can leave a written note at his office (320 Lauretta Taylor Building). Even if you cannot attend the event, feel free to submit a question and we will try to have it addressed during the panel or through other means. We look forward to your questions and participation at the panel session.
This is an event you really want to attend!
