Memories

05/19/2020

I hope that everyone is safe and healthy. I want to thank our teachers and students for your understanding and support during this pandemic. We are closed until June 30. Although we expect to make up the spring classes in July, the opening is uncertain. Please be patient and flexible as we are in the early stages of considering what will happen in the summer. I look forward to when we can all be together in person. Until then stay safe and healthy.

We are canceling all Korean language classes scheduled for the next three weeks in order to limit the potential impact of the Corona virus (COVID-19) on our Korean School community.

The Korean School will announce its plans for making up the missed classes following a thorough review of the COVID-19 situation at that time.

Korean School is a supportive community, ready to adapt as quickly as the circumstances evolve. Our first concern is always the safety of our Korean School students and family. Please let your teachers or me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure the safety of all of us.
Be healthy and safe.

Today at kindergarten class we had privilege to play in the main building.

Daylin and Adeline loved cutting new food pieces in to two pieces and learned to say “잘라요”. Later Daylin initiated pretend baking cookies with new connector toys. The teacher interacted with Daylin by saying “보라색 쿠키만 주세요” “Would you give me only purple colored cookies?” Where Daylin learn sorting purple color connecter piece out of rest of colors by listening and responding to the teacher.

Adeline was looking at Daylin playing pretend play with the connector toys Adeline carried on pretend play with the new connector toy as well. Adeline said “친구야 쿠키 같이 먹자” to teacher.
“Hey friend come and share cookie with me”. The teacher responded by saying “바나나맛 먹을래” as she picked yellow connector toy. Adeline picked blue one said “나는 블루베리 맛 먹을래”

As soon as Antonio arrived to the classroom he proudly counted number one to ten as he told teacher he practiced with his sister. When Brantly arrived at the classroom he notice many new things in the room especially fire alarm. Where it was great opportunity for kids to talk about had the fire drill and learn to say “불조심”. Always be careful of fire and follow instructions.

For the craft we made one of Korean traditional game name called “tuho” just like pitch-pot play. The children enjoyed decorating tuho. We also learn to say “쪼끔매” (Adeline said that as she picked little tiny stickers). Also “커” as opposite word. The children enjoyed throwing sticks in to the pot.
