Walton MBA Full-time and Executive MBA programs at the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

The Walton MBA program is designed to provide rigorous academic training and a strong business theory base from which our students launch or advance their professional careers. Learning abroad looks a little different when the classroom is an entire country.



Throughout their experience in India, our Walton Executive MBA students stepped outside their everyday routines to explore new places, experience a different culture, and see the country from new perspectives.



From cycling through the countryside to visiting historic landmarks, each experience offered another opportunity to learn, connect, and take in the communities around them.



These moments are an important part of global immersion. They encourage students to stay curious, embrace unfamiliar experiences, and strengthen the relationships that make the Executive MBA cohort experience so meaningful.

Some experiences have a way of putting the world into perspective.



During their time in India, our Walton Executive MBA students had the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks.



Beyond seeing an extraordinary piece of history and architecture firsthand, moments like this give students the opportunity to experience another culture, reflect on new perspectives, and build memories alongside the classmates who have become an important part of their MBA journey.



Global experiences are an important part of the Walton MBA program, extending learning beyond the classroom and giving students a broader perspective on the people, places, and cultures that shape our interconnected world.

What does strong leadership look like in practice?

In a Leadership and Organizational Behavior session with Walmart guest speaker Tim Simmons, Full-Time MBA students reflected on lessons around courage, resilience, transparency, trust, and listening to your team.

Their takeaways reinforced an important idea: strong leadership is not only about making decisions, but also about creating a culture where people feel heard, supported, and empowered to speak up.

Some of the most important leadership moments begin with a difficult conversation.

Jennifer Buchanan, Vice President of Walmart Academy, and Allie Hazelwood, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Strategy, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and Global Tech Finance at Walmart, joined our Walton Executive MBA students for Leadership and Organizational Behavior with Adam Stoverink, Executive Director of MBA Programs, and Matt Waller.

Together, they explored how leaders can approach difficult conversations with clarity, empathy, and accountability, from giving timely feedback to building the trust that makes honest conversations possible.

A meaningful milestone for the Walton MBA community came full circle at our latest MBA Alumni Advisory Board meeting.

Board members heard from Joshua Funmaker, the first recipient of the Dr. Joseph Jensen MBA Alumni Memorial Scholarship Award since the scholarship became fully endowed. The award honors Dr. Joseph Jensen, MBA '12, a founding member of the MBA Alumni Advisory Board, and continues his legacy of service by supporting Walton MBA students.

Dean Brent Williams and Dr. Adam Stoverink, Executive Director of MBA Programs, also shared updates on Walton College and the MBA programs. Amanda Guy offered perspective from her Full-Time MBA journey, including her decision to return to the classroom after several years of professional and leadership experience at Walmart.

We are grateful to Joshua and Amanda for sharing their experiences and to our Alumni Advisory Board for continuing to invest in the future of Walton MBA.
