In 1974, upon the recommendation of the deacon board, Fayette Christian School began as an educational ministry of Fayette Baptist Tabernacle, now identified as Fayette Baptist Church, to meet the need for a Christian day school in the community. The first kindergarten classes began in the fall. God blessed the ministry with the addition of first through sixth grade by 1976. Two metal buildings were added behind the church building in April of 1977. Although the original plan was to add one grade at a time, a number of church members wanted grades 7-12 added so all of their children could be in the same school. Therefore, in the fall of 1981, grades 7-12 began using an ACE program. Two students graduated in June of 1982. In February of 1985, plans begun for a new school building that would include a gymnasium, kitchen, and several classrooms to meet the needs of increases in enrollment. Three classrooms built over the gym locker rooms in 1997, provided a science lab, art room, and computer lab to enrich the educational program.
