We as educators at Immaculate Conception School derive our strength and energy as a gift from God. It is our responsibility as educators to participate with our children in creating a Catholic environment in which the children can achieve the spiritual, intellectual, social, cultural and physical goals essential to their development as contributing members of the community. A good Catholic educati

on upholds the belief in the value and dignity of living beings, and accepts the responsibility to work to improve the quality of all life. A good Catholic education is the result of a united effort of the home, school, and church. The teachers at Immaculate Conception build on this foundation for the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical well being of each student. The success, happiness, and growth of each child will be as great as the mutual understanding and cooperation of parents and teachers. We must all join hands in the exciting adventure and privilege of guiding the growth of each child. Immaculate Conception School exists because we believe that our children are special. Our philosophy is to enkindle in our students a thirst to reach out and explore the created universe, and to infuse in them a desire to improve the community of the faithful through a life of service according to the teaching of Jesus Christ.

The 2026–27 school year in the Diocese of Syracuse is quickly approaching!

Catholic school administrators from across the diocese recently gathered at Assumption Church in Syracuse for a day of prayer, reflection and fellowship.

Rev. Friar Nader Ata, OFM Conv., pastor of Assumption Church, welcomed the group, celebrated Mass, led Adoration, and shared the rich history of Assumption Church during a guided tour.

Fr. John Ryan, Parochial Vicar of Spirit of Hope Catholic Community, offered a reflection on the important role Catholic schools play in the Church’s mission of evangelization and in forming young people as disciples of Christ.

Please keep our school communities in your prayers as we prepare for the year ahead. Many Schools. One Mission.

Top students celebrated for academic excellence by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth

BALTIMORE, MD., July 21, 2026—CJ Schiano from North Syracuse, NY has been honored as one of the brightest students in the world by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.

CJ Schiano, a student at Immaculate Conception School in Fayetteville, NY, was honored for exceptional performance on the SAT, ACT, School and College Ability Test, or similar assessment taken as part of the CTY Talent Search. CTY uses above-grade-level testing to identify advanced students from around the world and provide a clear picture of their academic abilities.

Each year, about 16,000 students from more than 75 countries join CTY. On average, less than 30 percent of students who join CTY qualify for either high or grand honors based on their test scores.

"This is not just recognition of students’ performance on one test, but a testament to their curiosity and capacity for learning,” said Amy Lynne Shelton, PhD, CTY’s executive director. “These students have demonstrated enormous potential, and now we encourage them to seek out experiences and communities that help them challenge and stretch their knowledge, connect with other young scholars, understand diverse perspectives, think critically, and pursue their goals confidently."

CJ has also earned access to CTY’s rigorous, hands-on, day, residential, and online courses, which are offered in a range of subjects including History and Social Science, Language Arts, Mathematics, Robotics and Technology, and Science and Engineering. -

Online and summer gifted programs for young scholars in grades 2-12, education and guidance for families of gifted and talented youth.
