The St. Joseph Way

At St.

Joseph Catholic School, we believe in a well-rounded approach to education that forms the whole child. We strive each day to form our students SPIRITUALLY, ACADEMICALLY, PHYSICALLY, SOCIALLY, and EMOTIONALLY. While every school attempts to accomplish some of these aspects of education, We believe St. Joseph is the only school in Fayetteville that fully forms students in all of them!

SJCS JH Volleyball Wraps Up a Fantastic Volleyball Season!

The SJCS JH Volleyball team traveled to Oklahoma City this past Thursday and Friday to compete in the Heartland Christian Athletic Association (HCAA) Volleyball Championships. Entering the tournament as the #4 seed, the Panthers rose to the occasion, winning their pool and eliminating the tournament’s top seed in pool play along the way!

In bracket play, the Panthers advanced to the semi-finals and faced the eventual champions, Owasso Prep Academy, and were eliminated 0-2 in a hard-fought match, falling 19-25 and 22-25. The team finished the season with an outstanding 20-9 overall record, winning 42 of the 60 sets played. It was a fantastic season, and our student-athletes represented SJCS well throughout the year.

Congratulations to 8th Graders Savanna Sexton and Willa Zanoff on their unanimous selections to the HCAA All-Conference Volleyball Team! This is a well-deserved honor and a testament to their hard work, dedication, and leadership throughout the season.

Before taking the court in the tournament, our JH volleyball players and their parents had the opportunity to tour the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine in Oklahoma City. It was a meaningful experience that allowed our students to learn about Blessed Stanley Rother, the first US born priest to be martyred and the first US born martyr officially recognized by the Catholic Church. The shrine was built and dedicated in his honor, providing our students and families with a wonderful opportunity to deepen their faith and learn more about his inspiring life and sacrifice. The tour includes an informative movie which features our very own Diocesan Bishop, Bishop Anthony Taylor!

Thank you to all our student-athletes, parents, families, and supporters for making this volleyball season so special. We are incredibly proud of this group and grateful for the time, commitment, and support that made this season such a success.

Congratulations, Panthers, on a memorable season!

“It’s a GREAT time to be a Panther!”

It’s been an incredible week (really the last few weeks) for our SJCS Cross Country Team! On Tuesday, our Junior High XC team and 6th Grade student-athletes traveled to Trinity Catholic in Fort Smith for the NWA Catholic School “Run for the Rosary” race. The SJCS Girls team delivered an outstanding performance, sweeping the top five places in the girls’ race, which we believe marks the first perfect girls team score in program history! Leading the way was 7th grader River Allen, who captured 1st place overall! The JH Boys team brought home a 2nd place team finish, highlighted by an incredible performance from 6th grader Charlie White, who fought his way through traffic and a 1st place overall in his debut race as a SJCS student-athlete!

Today, the SJCS JH XC team competed at the Springdale Schools Invitational, where our JH Girls team captured its 3rd consecutive 1st place team finishes in the 1A-4A, 7-9th Grade JH Division! The girls’ team edged out Huntsville JH by just 1 point! Five student-athletes finished in the top 20, led by 7th Grade River Allen (3rd overall), 7G Allie Clendenin (5th), 8G Amelia Karalus (6th), 7G Mia Valle (11th), and 8G Emery Ward (16th). The JH Boys team also had a strong showing, bringing home a 3rd place team finish in the 1A-4A 7-9th Grade Division! Leading the way for the SJCS JH Boys was 8th grader Mateo Echegoyen, who finished 8th overall, 7B Chase Weinreber (17th), and 8B Jacob Ramirez (20th)! Congratulations to all our runners on an outstanding week! We are so proud of you all!

We had some extra special visitors at preschool today! A huge thank you to the Fayetteville Police Department for stopping by to hang out with our students.
The kids had an absolute blast meeting a real police dog, checking out a police motorcycle, and even getting to climb through a police truck! We loved learning about how our local officers keep us safe, and we might just have a few future police officers in our classrooms now.
