From 23-25 March, Campbell Battalion hosted their final FTX of the school year. Among the participants, were the four schools which make up Campbell Battalion. Those being Campbell University, Fayetteville State University, Methodist University, and The University of North Carolina (Pembroke). This field training exercise, was the culminating event for the past year, and was orchestrated with the intent to mirror what these Cadets will be tested on this coming summer. The tested events include the following; A Field Leaders Reaction Course, the Fort Bragg's Air Assault School Obstacle Course, Rappelling from the Fort Bragg Air Assault School Tower, Basic Rifle Marksmanship to include zeroing and qualification, Night into Day Land Navigation, Platoon STX lanes, and Patrol Base Operations. Even with the severe weather this passed weekend, these motivated Cadets remained ready and willing to face any challenge that came their way. Their high level of motivation, esprit de corps, professionalism, and desire to accomplish any challenge posed against them, speaks volumes of their characters, and is the exact type of mentality that the United States Army desires from it's future leaders.
At the end of the day, Campbell Battalion is much more than an organization. It is a small tight knit family, that fosters a positive environment, and prepares it's Cadets to become the best leaders possible. Congrats Campbell Battalion for your hard work and efforts throughout this past year. Good Luck to the Commissioning Class of 2018 on their future ventures, and to the MS I-III's during their summer training.
