The 2026 event will feature an afternoon of competitive racing and networking from 11:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., including a tournament-style heat race format that advances participants through multiple rounds toward the final championship race.

In addition to the main racing event, CCA is introducing new Early Bird Shootout opportunities for sponsors in 2026. Shop and vendor sponsors who register between August 1 and August 31 will each have the opportunity to select one representative to compete in their respective Shootout races.

For the Shootout races only, starting positions will be determined by registration order, rewarding sponsors who commit early. Winners of each Shootout race will receive a gift card to Trackhouse Motorplex to return for another day of racing.

The event will also include sponsor displays, attendee giveaways, a photo opportunity, student recognition, a 50/50 raffle, and awards recognizing the winners of the championship race and sponsor Shootout competitions.

We get a lot of request for repair work done by our students from the general public. It is probably a good time to restate the conditions under which we operate.

1. all vehicles MUST be LESS than 10 years old - no exceptions

2. We do not do complete paint jobs

3. We do not do restoration work (see requirement #1)

4. We do not do rust repair

5. We do not do mechanical repairs

6. No vehicle gets scheduled without being inspected by the Department Chair or the Program Coordinator

7. Vehicle owner pays for and provides all parts required for the repair.

8. Vehicle owner pays for all material for which a bill will be calculated AFTER repairs are complete and MUST be paid before the vehicle is released.

Another important item is that due to the nature of education the students will take longer to repair a vehicle than a commercial repair shop. Also, while we make every effort to ensure a "commercially acceptable" outcome, there may be signs that a repair occurred when you pick up your vehicle.

POOL - Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology Instructor (Part-time) Teach classes on the subject matter assigned.

The Trump administration unveiled the nation’s first Workforce Pell Grant program, allowing eligible students to fund short-term credential and certification programs in as little as eight weeks.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon stated the initiative targets critical shortages in high-demand fields like manufacturing, healthcare, and the skilled trades.

"We have to fill our workforce shortage," McMahon said. "This is a new program – from eight to 15 weeks – where you can go in, get certifications and get into the workforce and get a job."

Eligible programs include training for electricians, HVAC technicians, carpenters and other skilled trades.

It has been another fantastic year at Collision U.

We want to congratulate our students for their success and support the continuous effort for their future and this wonderful industry. We would also like to congratulate our HSC students and wish them luck in their future endeavors and encourage them to achieve their goals.

FTCC CollisionU students recently had the honor of helping preserve one of the vintage 1/4-ton Jeeps that had been in storage for many years with the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation.

As part of the project, our students repaired the rust damage and areas of sheet metal deterioration while intentionally preserving the dents, dings, and body damage that help tell the story of the vehicle’s service life. Rather than over-restoring the Jeep, the decision was made to maintain its character and realism, allowing the vehicle to reflect what it may have experienced while in service.

The Jeep was then refinished in a matte O.D. Green finish, helping protect the vehicle while preserving its historic appearance. Lead Refinish Instructor Robbie Lynch, along with his non-structural and refinishing classes, completed the majority of the work on this project.

This is the second project CollisionU has proudly completed for the museum. Our previous work included refinishing the base for the rotor mast of the helicopter made famous in the true story of *Black Hawk Down*.

Projects like these give our students valuable hands-on experience while allowing them to contribute to something much bigger than a classroom assignment. We take great pride in supporting the preservation of military history and honoring the service and sacrifice of the men and women represented through these exhibits.

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation and proud of the work our students and instructors continue to accomplish.
