The coop is coming along slowly. Trying to beat out the next 7 days weather report of rain and thunderstorms. Only thing left is to put the front door on and make sure all openings that shouldn't be open get closed. Its not perfect, but it is perfectly imperfect, and that means its perfect for my flock.

Bernie did a great job with his offspring. Terrel Earl Owens is filling out fast and is almost bigger than his dad. Sansa looks to walk exactly like Bernie and is showcasing signs that he will be bigger than his dad and grandpa Randy as well.

As butchering day comes closer, inspections of this years productions has become more critical than years before. Years prior I kept roosters based on who their mother was, 1 from Lorelai, 1 from Rihanna, and 1 from Willow. Last year I kept based off of personality. This year height, meat to bone ratio, speed of growth, personality, and so much more will go into why I keep a rooster or why a rooster finds his way to freezer camp. The hens do not require this amount of inspection simply because I have not reached a point where I have to be picky with keeping hens.
