Congratulations to December Graduate Jim Eggleston 04/23/2026

Congratulations to Jim Eggleston on his LL.M. degree!

During his time in the LL.M. Program, Jim learned about the problems and gaps in agriculture and how to address these issues. Jim shared that he "came out with a much greater appreciation of the scope of these problems, but also an overwhelming awareness of and respect for the many people who also are concerned about these issues and the enormous efforts they are undertaking to find solutions."

The LL.M. Program inspired Jim to pursue a new idea to address these problems: a “co-op” of agriculture professionals, experts, and advisors which developed into the creation of “LandWise Partners, LLC.” LandWise Partners, LLC. is not just a referral service for agriculture experts "but also an enterprise that can provide consulting services as a whole." "We can work as individuals together on projects, but we have also developed group-wise “LandWise Partners’ clients,” said Jim.

"During the course of the program, I met an incredible number of new professionals in the ag world, people who I would have never met otherwise. . . . to anyone thinking about an LL.M. in Ag and Food at Arkansas – DON’T WAIT. I wish I had done this 25 years ago," Jim shared.

Congratulations again Jim on your new venture and LL.M. Degree!

Congratulations to December Graduate Alex Beard 03/17/2026

Congratulations to Alex Beard on graduating from the LL.M. Program and starting a new position with The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma!

Alex joined the LL.M. Program as a part-time distance student, and said the distance option exceeded his expectations. Alex shared that "although an LLM degree was not a prerequisite for my new position, it nevertheless prepared me for it. The courses I took, which included water law, environmental law, and labor law, gave me a broad base of knowledge that I rely on every day in drafting the Tribe’s laws. Mission accomplished!"
