Our Violence, Crisis, and Trauma Research Lab recently hosted a Brainspotting training for 23 participants from Arkansas and Oklahoma, including current counseling students and program alumni. 🧠

Over the three-day workshop, trainers Christine Ranck and Cynthia Schwartzberg introduced participants to Brainspotting, a trauma-treatment approach that helps individuals process emotional distress by accessing neurological spots connected to trauma. The VCTR Lab was able to sponsor four student spots thanks to funding from the WE CARE Strategic Plan! ❤

Lewis and Donna Epley were dedicated supporters of the U of A for more than 60 years, and their generosity left a profound mark on our college. ❤

In 2012, the Epleys made a founding gift to help establish the Epley Center for Health Professions. They also created a scholarship for students beginning their nursing journeys, which has continued to grow over the years.

We’ll forever be grateful for their generosity and know that their legacy will live on through the many students who have and will go on to help people across Arkansas and beyond through their work in the health professions.
