Amnesty is to grant an official pardon. In order to ensure the safety and welfare of studnets, the University of Arkansas has the Amnesty Policy - this policy ensures that if a student seeks medical care for themself or someone experiencing the negative effects of a substance (alcohol, drugs, etc.), the student will not receive disciplinary action. Sometimes we need the reminder that it's okay to take a break - your body needs it! The same is true when drinking alcohol, listen to your body and space out your drinks!

Did you know your body needs between 8 and 15 glasses of water each day? That number increases to between 12 and 20 if you plan to go out drinking that night. But even if you can't drink that many glasses during the day, if you choose to go out drinking, try alternating alcoholic drinks with a glass of water. Work with your body not against it - it'll thank you the next day.

Knowing how much alcohol is in what you’re drinking is the key to having a good time or experiencing some of the more negative effects. Not all alcohol is equal, so make sure to know how much is in your drink. Just because it all fits into one cup or glass doesn’t mean it’s just one drink, it could be several.
