May 2023 creative writing graduate Emma K. Cleary was named one of seven winners of Fusion Theater's worldwide 17th annual contest seeking new works for her short play "One & Only." Having minored in theater, Cleary's script was originally written as an assignment for a U of A playwriting course, eventually competing against submissions from 40 U.S. states and nine countries.
