The Bessie B. Moore Center for Economic Education opened in 1979 in the Sam M. Walton College of Business. This post shares the story of Bessie's gifting the endowment, Tom McKinnon's leadership, and Rita Littrell's tenure as director. The Center is being closed in 2022 in the Walton College. It will at some point resume without staff in the College of Education and Health Professions.

Great program from the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. Econ Ed from The Fed: Preparing Students for the 21st Century Careers. As I work with educators and the first generation students I mentor, I notice that students struggle to determine what to do with their futures. They are often told to overlook trade skill development and that they must attend college to be successful. My belief is that they must take skills beyond high school into the workplace. They must be have skills beyond high school to be competitive. To introduce students to careers in various fields, the Kansas City Fed is hosting a series of webinars featuring diverse people in many career choices. It would be a great way to introduce your students to careers they may never have imagined. Check out the speaker agenda and ways to save it for use with all of your classes.
