Happy Independence Day for the United States, and we are celebrating the 250th Anniversary this year! 🎉🎉🎆🎆

The library will be closed on Friday, July 3rd for the holiday. Enjoy the holiday and see some fireworks if you can!

Our resources will be unavailable to access from 12 PM - 4 PM today, June 26. There will be an email to the MU community when services are back up.

Happy Juneteenth! 🎉🎉

We celebrate Juneteenth, also called Freedom day, as an independence day to honor and mark the effective end of slavery in the United States.

On June 19, 1865, Texas officially announced freedom for enslaved people, creating the Juneteenth celebrations. It was two years after the Emancipation proclamation when enslaved African Americans in Texas were freed.

Though only recently in 2021 recognized as a federal holiday, it has been celebrated since 1866. Celebrate Juneteenth with us!

Memorial Day is on Monday, May 25. Our offices will be closed for the holiday and will reopen on Tuesday at 8 AM. We are thankful to those who have served and sacrificed for this country.

Memorial Day was founded in 1868 as a day of honor and remembrance to pay tribute to the individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States and their families.
