LIGHTBEARERS DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM:
Connecting students with Jesus, His people and the nations
In the Lightbearers Discipleship Program, our goal is for each student…
...to grow in their understanding of the Bible.
...to grow in their understanding of the key doctrine of the Bible.
...to grow in their commitment to living in a way that is consistent with the Bible's message and teaching.
...to grow in their understanding of their unique role in the unfolding plan of God to make disciples of all nations.
In other words, after going through a year or more of the LDP we desire students to be more Biblically literate, more doctrinally sound, more committed to a Christ-like walk of life and more engaged in missions.
To accomplish this we ask students in the LDP to commit to
…being mentored one-on-one by a mature believer in the faith.
…taking biblical survey and theology courses in the Lightbearers Institute.
…living with other believers for real-life discipleship in Biblical community under the leadership and influence of a discipleship trainer.
…participating in short-term mission opportunities to serve LMI mission partners around the globe.
A great additional benefit is that the $310/month you pay for rent, utilities and course costs helps to fund the work of LMI partners around the globe.
Where does all this happen? In an LMI property--a house or at Woodway Apartments near campus (off Weddington at I540--see the map link above).
Who: College students or post college grads; individuals or groups may apply
Commitment: Rent at Woodway is $310/month (including utilities and program costs); time commitment is 5-10 hours per week and a 10-14 day short term mission trip over the Christmas Break.
