The ESL Team received a surprise visit from one of their former students - Oksana! Oksana started in the Beginner ESL class, transitioned to Intermediate and ended up in the Advanced class. Now, she is an employee of Fayetteville Public Schools. We are so proud of all that she has accomplished!!!✨

Marilyn’s story proves it’s never too late to change your future.
After leaving high school as a teen, Marilyn faced many challenges, including overcoming addiction, becoming a mother of three, and rebuilding her life as a single parent. In 2026, she made the decision to invest in herself and create a brighter future for her family.
With determination and the support of Fayetteville Adult Education & Career Training Center, Marilyn earned her GED in May 2026. 🎓
Today, she’s completing her WAGE certifications, applying for scholarships and college, and working toward a career in healthcare, with dreams of becoming a birth doula and helping others.
We’re incredibly proud of Marilyn’s perseverance, courage, and commitment to creating a better future for herself and her children.
