honoring Gene McKissic, our FIRST Black Student Body President who boldly championed university needs in 1972, advocating for student voices when representation mattered most. After graduating from and receiving his law degree from , McKissic transformed his education into a distinguished legal career. His unwavering commitment continues through his dedicated service and contributions to campus developments. We celebrate this trailblazer who broke barriers, undoubtedly shaped our institutionโ€™s path toward greater inclusion, and whose legacy lives on through the Gene E. McKissic Endowed Scholarship. His visionary leadership inspires us all.

Our Campus Relations team has been working hard on our food drive competition against Alabama. Our Director of Community Relations, Bella Thompson(), did a fantastic job taking charge of ensuring the success of the food drive. Arkansas has the highest rate of food insecurity in the nation, and ASG is working with the Full Circle Food Pantry to try and improve food security in NWA! Thank you to all of our members for donating canned goods. Special shout out to FLF Member Nick Smith for leveraging connections with Fayetteville and Bentonville Walmart and Samโ€™s Club and for their generous donations! ๐Ÿฅ˜

Last month, members of our lobbying organization, Razorback Action Group, visited the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock. Students met with state senators and representatives to advocate on issues impacting our student body. Major thanks to everyone who made the visit possible, especially Rebeca Haley, Associate Vice Chancellor for State Relations, for championing our causes. Next stop: Washington, D.C. ๐Ÿ—โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
