Did you know that more than 1 billion tons of pumpkin end up in U.S. landfills every year? This organic waste produces greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. Instead of throwing your jack-o’-lanterns in the trash, dispose of your gourds in a sustainable way!
Pumpkins that aren’t carved and rotten can be donated to food pantries, farms, animal sanctuaries or left out for wildlife to eat. Compost or bury your rotten pumpkins.
