It seems silly to say, but it's really mportant to BREATHE. I get so many clients on my table who breath so shallowly even when I tell them to breathe deeply. Try this exercise, and visit Soothes page for more.

Here's how you can perform this breathing exercise.
4 Seconds of Inhale.
4 Seconds of Hold.
7 Seconds of Slow Exhale.
Repeat the process till you feel relaxed.
Relax your shoulders as you exhale. Maintain the relaxation as you inhale and hold.
The slow breathing pattern and long exhales will gradually make you feel more relaxed.
Breathe in and out through your nose. Or you can exhale through your mouth like you're blowing out a candle.
The intentional focus on your breath and the even rhythm help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which counteracts the "fight or flight" response and promotes relaxation.
