At Desired Destiny Learning Center, we believe educating our children takes a TEAM! Parents, teachers, and those of us who provide additional support all play an important part in helping our children succeed. 💜

That’s why every Tuesday, we’re bringing you 5 Parent Tips that you can actually use at home!

🎉 BIG NEWS FOR DESIRED DESTINY LEARNING CENTER! 🎉

We are excited to announce that Desired Destiny Learning Center is now an N.C. ESA+ Approved Provider!

What does this mean?

Families whose children have been awarded the North Carolina Education Student Accounts (ESA+) Scholarship may now use their eligible scholarship funds to pay for approved tutoring services at our learning center.

We provide personalized tutoring in:

📚 English/Language Arts
➕ Mathematics
🔬 Science
🌎 Social Studies

Our tutoring is designed around each child’s individual learning needs, skill level, and way of learning.

Already approved for ESA+?

Parents can select Desired Destiny Learning Center as their provider through ClassWallet. After services are arranged, we will provide the required invoice for the parent to upload for approval and payment.

Interested in applying for ESA+?

The ESA+ Scholarship assists eligible North Carolina students with disabilities. A child must have an official Eligibility Determination issued by a North Carolina public school showing eligibility for special education services. A 504 Plan or medical diagnosis alone does not replace this required document.

Applications for the 2027–2028 school year are expected to open February 1, 2027. Funding is limited, so families are encouraged to prepare early and apply when the application period opens.

Please note: Becoming an approved provider does not allow us to approve scholarship applications. Eligibility and scholarship awards are determined by the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority.

📚✨ TUESDAYS ARE FOR LEARNING & FUN! ✨📚

Today was another amazing Learning Enrichment Day at Desired Destiny Learning Center! 💜 Our Learning Enrichment program is held every Tuesday from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, and today our students had so much fun learning through hands-on activities!

I’ve been working hard creating our very own interactive learning boards, and today the kids got a chance to put them to use! 🥰 These boards make learning engaging, interactive, and FUN—and they will also be used with our after-school students!

Today we worked on:
✨ Math skills using UNO cards, teddy bears, counters & other manipulatives
🔤 Letters & letter sounds
📖 Sight words
📚 Reading comprehension
✏️ Handwriting skills
📝 Cursive writing
🧠 And so much more!

One thing I love about our program is that learning doesn’t always have to look like sitting at a desk with a worksheet. Children can touch it, build it, move it, practice it, and have FUN while learning it! 💜

If your child is homeschooled, Pre-K, preschool age, or simply needs additional learning support, join us every Tuesday from 9 AM–12 PM!

🎒 Need After-School Care?
We still have spots available! Our after-school students receive homework support AND participate in hands-on academic enrichment throughout the week.

September is here, and that means we’re bringing out some NEW FALL ACTIVITIES! 🍂🍁

If you have a homeschooler, preschooler, early learner, or a child who simply LOVES to create, we would love for them to join us for Creative Kids Arts & Crafts Day at Desired Destiny Learning Center! 💜

Our Wednesday program gives children an opportunity to use their imagination, get creative, socialize with other children, and—most importantly—HAVE FUN!

🎨🍂 WEDNESDAYS ARE ART DAYS! 🍂🎨

Wednesday is still our Art Day at Desired Destiny Learning Center, and with fall right around the corner, what better way to get ready for the season than by making SCARECROWS! 🌾🍁

Our children had so much fun creating their very own scarecrows, using their creativity and making each one their own. We had some very creative little artists in the building! 🖍️✂️❤️

We originally started our Wednesday Art Day during the summer, and after seeing how much the children enjoyed it, we knew we had to keep it going!

Our Wednesday Art Day is open to homeschoolers, preschoolers, Pre-K students, and other early learners who could use an opportunity during the week to get out of the house, socialize with other children, be creative, and simply have FUN!

💜 ANY DONATION IS WELCOME!

That’s right—there is no set fee for Wednesday Art Day. Any donation is welcome. We want our children to have an opportunity to create, explore, interact with their peers, and enjoy themselves.

Now I can’t wait to see their reactions when they find out what we have planned for next Wednesday’s Art Day! 👀🎨✨
