Congratulations to these awesome guys on their graduation from the Industrial Maintenance program. Most of them started as Dual Enrollment in high school. That is such an amazing opportunity and jumpstart for their careers. Good luck guys!!

These are the graduates of the Industrial Maintenance program for Spring 2023. We are missing one other in this picture. In case you needed more motivation to take the steps towards a career in maintenance, these guys all have jobs in the industry and will make over $500,000 combined this year!! Congratulations guys and good luck in your careers.

You may be really surprised to hear that our students learn about residential electricity in our Industrial Maintenance class, but you just don’t ever know as a maintenance tech what you will be asked to do. A machine operator may need an additional fan installed and it’s up to us to add a receptacle to accommodate that. Here is dual enrollment student Josh Litaker making that happen!

This fifth trimester, TIG welding, big personality student is THE Kendreon Thomas. This guy has perseverance like no other. It hasn’t always been easy but he has never given up. He has a bright future ahead and we can’t wait to hear about it. We will be leaning on Ken in the future to come back and give our students a pep talk about the roadmap to success!

Second trimester students Caleb Burton and Lucas Pigg are busy wiring a motor trainer board. We take a lot of pride at TCAT in the fact that our training boards are all student built and they do an OUTSTANDING job. After the boards are completed other students will use them to wire different motor circuits.

The awesome folks at Grammer hosted our IMA students today for a tour of their facility. The maintenance manager was so generous to teach the students about the different machines they have and also giving some important words of wisdom on the type of maintenance technician to be.

Our students are out this week for the TCAT Spring Break. The Industrial Maintenance Instructors are not taking a break though. We are going through training for new Mitsubishi Electric trainers that we will be receiving this Summer. They will include PLC, safety PLC, and motion (servo) trainers.

The skill of TROUBLESHOOTING is by far the most valuable tool in a maintenance technician’s toolbox. Here at TCAT we lean heavily on teaching this skill. These Dual Enrollment students, Colby Sisk (a junior) and Wyatt Phillips (a junior) are diagnosing a problem with this electrical trainer. The instructors have the ability to insert problems into a working circuit.

Today 5th trimester student Trey Stevenson is putting the finishing touches on a PLC controlled motor starting circuit. This is definitely not an easy task even though Trey makes it seem that way. We at TCAT are definitely proud of his progress and skill. Trey already works as an Industrial Maintenance technician at a large plant right here in Fayetteville.

Safety first! 5th trimester student Grant Reynolds has on noise canceling headphones, safety glasses, gloves and some rugged canvas outerwear while operating this larger grinder. He graduates the program in a couple of short months and just landed a dream maintenance job that also came with a very generous sign on bonus!! Congratulations Grant!

This is 5th trimester student Blake Latham learning yet another small, but very important skill…….the oxy-acetylene cutting torch. I have mentioned some other skills before that you might not use daily in the industrial maintenance trade, but when you do need it you need to be proficient at it. The skills of the cutting torch are absolutely that. Mr. Latham has been employed at a large manufacturing company since his 2nd trimester.
