A milestone moment for our DPT Class of 2028!🎉

Today, our 1st-year Doctor of Physical Therapy students had their first opportunity to provide patient care. This marks the beginning of their journey from classroom learning to clinical practice, where knowledge, compassion, and professionalism come together to make a difference in the lives of others.

We are proud of their hard work and excited to watch them grow into the next generation of physical therapists! 💙🩺

🌏❤️ While taking a break from the classroom, two of our DPT faculty members are making an impact halfway around the world on a mission trip in Thailand.

Dr. Nicole Hodges and Dr. Rebecca Helms show immense dedication to serving others far beyond campus, demonstrating the compassion, leadership, and commitment to humanity that define our profession. Through service, connection, and care, they are helping make a difference in the lives of those they encounter.

A reminder that physical therapy is more than a profession, it’s an opportunity to serve, uplift, and create positive change wherever we are called. We are proud of their work and the example they set for our students and community.

Come with us to see how the class of 2028 feels before & after the RAST/40-yard dash! Our goal is to feel our anaerobic system kick in and feel what our patients may feel one day! Lastly, as Dr. Craig says, “to be a physical therapist, we must first be physical!”

And the Clinical Goes to…

Our Class of 2027 is starting their first (!) full time clinical rotation today! Here’s a throwback to when they received one of their rotations. Everyone was feeling Hollywood.

Wish them good luck as they step into the clinic!

📍Future movement experts in action.

Our first-year DPT students are in the biomechanics lab getting hands-on with the foundations of kinematic analysis, learning precise marker placement to capture and analyze human movement. From understanding joint mechanics to breaking down movement patterns, this is where clinical observation meets objective data.

Today’s lab = building the skills to better assess, analyze, and optimize movement for the patients and athletes they’ll serve in the future.

You know it’s Summer when…DPT 5710- Exercise Physiology

The Class of 2028 took on the Cooper 12-Minute Run.

As future physical therapists, it’s not just about understanding movement, physiology, and performance in the classroom….it’s about living it.

In order to be a physical therapist, you must first be physical. 💪

Proud of this group for embracing the challenge and putting exercise physiology into action.🔥

Shoutout to two of our DPT students for creating an informative and engaging educational video on Diabetes Insipidus, breaking down the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and key management strategies of this important endocrine disorder.

As future physical therapists, understanding systemic conditions like diabetes insipidus is critical for recognizing red flags, appreciating fluid balance implications, and delivering safe, effective patient care.

Great work translating complex medical concepts into practical, digestible education!

Keep pushing the profession forward through curiosity, collaboration, and evidence-based learning.
