Please join us in welcoming our new English teacher to the Massey Hill Classical High School family!

Mr. Edwards brings 28 years of experience in education, which includes 22 years of teaching English at the high school level in Cumberland County Schools and Harnett County Schools. He also spent several years serving as Assistant Director of Huntington Learning Center. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education from State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego.

Aside from holding different roles throughout his teaching career at the school level, Mr. Edwards is widely recognized for developing schoolwide ACT and SAT preparation programs, leading district professional development, and presenting at the Southwest Regional ACT Conference. His dedication to student success has earned him numerous honors, including Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Month. His passion for literacy, critical thinking, and college readiness makes him an outstanding addition to our Pirate family.

We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Kennedy to the Massey Hill Classical High School family! She brings over 20 years of dedicated service and experience serving Fort Bragg and Cumberland County Schools.

What makes this homecoming even more special is that Ms. Kennedy is already part of the Massey family—her child is a proud Massey graduate! We are thrilled to welcome her back to campus in this new role and know her experience, dedication, and positive spirit will be a tremendous asset to our school community.

Please help us welcome Jason Heney, our new Social Studies Teacher, to Massey Hill Classical High School!

Mr. Heney holds a Master of Arts Degree in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Bachelor of Science in Social Science Secondary Education from Penn State University.

With a passion for teaching history and social studies, Mr. Heney is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of leaders. Bringing 22 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army, Mr. Heney offers a wealth of global experience and proven leadership to the classroom. In addition to his military career, Mr. Heney also has prior teaching experience as a High School Social Studies Teacher.

We are excited for our students to learn from someone whose real-world experiences will bring history to life. Welcome to Pirate Nation!

Congratulations to Ryan Buracchio, Griffin Hire, and Quincy Williams, who represented Massey Hill Classical this week at the NSDA National Tournament in Richmond, VA. Griffin Hire finished 12th in the nation in the Senate and Quincy Williams, as a member of the Carolina East World Schools Debate team, finished as a triple octafinalist. Ryan Buracchio also volunteered his non-competition time as a World Schools Debate judge for the NSDA Middle School National Tournament. Well done, all!
