Helping moms love their families. Gifts for college students and services for moms of growing kids.

First, I want to say thank you for your kind, compassionate and encouraging words, whether comments, messages, texts, emails or phone calls. It’s been a long two weeks. 🩵

I have closed the store, shipped out all orders, and I’ve slowly begun to dismantle the store. Shelves and so many items have gone home with me. I’ve texted girls in each sorority to come get any remaining product (for free) to give to girls for big/little this fall, and I’ve returned the items I could for a refund.

There is never a great time to close a business or store. You will always let people down. But ultimately I have to take care of me and my family, so sometimes that means pivoting at an inconvenient time.

If I haven’t responded to your message, I’m sorry. It’s been busy, and honestly I need a minute.

I’m determining how to move forward, and I’m not sure what that looks like.

But I promise I’ve read every single note, and I’m listening, I hear you, and I’m sad with you. In a perfect world, I’d love to be here for families forever. A friend suggested I take pictures of your precious messages to read on hard days. Definitely doing that.

I got a graduation announcement in the mail yesterday, and it both broke my heart…and healed me. I’m thankful from the depths of my heart for the opportunity to be with you through these years. I’ve heard from moms who don’t have college kids at the University of Arkansas (or even kids in college), and I’m touched.

I’ll try to check in and be available, maybe keep sharing my gifts, crafts, recipes, flowers …and my journey. 🩵

I’ll stay flexible. I will receive the pruning, grow deeper roots, and prepare for the growth that’s coming. Maybe I’ll even bloom next spring. Sending you the biggest hug! I appreciate you.

It is with the heaviest heart that I share that I’m closing Love, Mom and The Happy Place by Love, Mom.

It has been the most wonderful journey building a business, and I’ve learned so much. I’ve learned so much about myself as well along the way.

I’m braver than I thought. Honestly, closing has taken more bravery than opening a business. It’s hard, I’m emotional, I’m disappointed, and it’s all bittersweet. But I’m SO thankful for the opportunity. I faced some FEAR making videos, putting myself out there, selling boxes, delivering gifts, and allowing people to just think I’m the delivery person. Humbling, to say the least.

I’m stronger than I thought. I have built furniture, packed boxes, moved stock, loaded, unloaded, and figured out impossible things…even with a broken hand in March! I also kept going with uncertainty in my heart and prayers on my lips. I discovered in my weakness I was strongest.

I’m smarter than I realized. I figured out how to order wholesale, trademark, create designs and license them, file sales tax reports, how to deliver on campus and where to park (a real feat!), find perfect-size packaging, not oversell, not over-order…and how to determine what students and moms would want! Lots of research, time and energy to do this magical thing called delivery. And make it look easy.

It was the biggest blessing in my life, and I’m SO thankful to have had the opportunity to know you, to serve you, and I’m so thankful that you trusted me with your friends, your orders, and with your young adults.

I will move forward with big hopes. I have the best sign, it’s out of style now, but I’m keeping it! It says in huge letters, PRAY BIG. I am, friends. And I will. I hope you will too. 🩵

Love, Holly

It’s almost June, summer is pregnant with possibility…and JOY awaits!

We just had the most rainy couple of weeks, but that means flowers are coming! It was dry enough to mow, and the grass is GREEN and lush. It’s brought us beautiful nights to walk, late sunsets, and those gorgeous orangey-pinkish-purple sunsets.

(Do you remember the old adage, “Red sky in the morning, sailors’ warning, red sky at night, sailors’ delight?”) Those gorgeous sunsets mean the next day is going to be amazing!

Did we know these good, calm days were coming? Not really. We knew the rain had to end eventually though!

When we’re going through a season of short days, long nights, and rain…do we snuggle up and enjoy the retreat? Or do we push through with our scheduled plans and try to make things happen?

I love the way it’s dark outside on a cloudy, rainy day. I love that I can turn on all the lamps, and it feels so cozy-kinda like Christmas Eve with all the twinkly lights. And people tend to stay home on rainy days-so you can nap, read, or get some work done in the peaceful quiet.

The dark is what prepares us to appreciate the bright days of sunshine. We appreciate that we can go, go, go again. We make a point of going out to let the sunshine hit our face.

Did you know God is a God of surprises? He doesn’t tell us the whole story before we’re ready. He allows some cloudy, rainy days so we appreciate when the clouds part and the sun shines through. Sometimes He allows more days of darkness than we think we can handle. All so that when His light peeks through and He delivers in a big way…we can point back to His sovereignty. ⛅

If you’re in cloudy days, I pray you enjoy them. I pray that you turn on the lamps, cuddle up, read, relax, and prepare. It won’t be long, and the clouds will clear.

If you’re in the sunshine of your life, let the light hit your face and fill your heart with joy. Imagine what more God has in store. His plans are bigger, more creative, and more beautiful than we can even imagine.

May the God of surprises delight you!

Our kids are HOME for the SUMMER!! 🙌🤩😎

..and they already ate all the snacks! 😂

We got a grocery order on Monday, but my son says alllll the snacks are gone. 😂🫠 He's incredibly active, so his metabolism is (unfairly) high, so he can eat ALL the foods!

I do have incredibly light colored furniture and he likes to take snack bags to his room ...so I'm thinking of all the snacks that he can consume when he plops down after being outside. 😅

Here is my grocery list for tomorrow! Let's see how long they last...taking bets.🤞

Isn't she precious? 🥰

Know what's better than celebrating and sending a gift to your sweet child?

When they FaceTime you telling you THANK YOU! (I love to hear back from parents after their favorite student called home to say thank you!) 🤗🥹🤩🥹

I love a girl who loves purple! 🙌

I had the wildest crush on purple for a couple of years (fifth-sixth grade!). My mom even found me purple Nike tennis shoes! (Think the women's pacific style in lavender with a white swoosh.) Imagine...the internet wasn't a thing...so she had to SHOP for them! 💜

Purple sweaters, skirts, pencils (with Hello Kitty trinkets hanging off them!), what wonderful, innocent days!

Sometimes when we give a gift in someone's favorite colors they fall in love with us all over again. They've been seen, heard, and loved. 🥹

So happy I can help you deliver a gift in your loved ones FAVORITE colors! 🩷🖍️🍊💛🍏📘💜🥰
