The UAB School of Education recently partnered with the Children’s Policy Cooperative of Jefferson County to provide the CPC’s first children’s book vending machine at Jefferson County Family Court.

The children’s book vending machine is located in the second-floor family waiting area and provides age-appropriate books at no cost to families. UAB professors and teacher candidates provided guidance on the selection of book titles along with additional family resources to support reading. https://go.uab.edu/3qtuYGP

I loved the ease of Study.com. This website has everything you need to teach a meaningful and targeted lesson tied to your standards. Study.com eliminates the need for detailed planning. Additionally, the quality of the information and the range of topics available are other qualities I love about Study.com. Membership includes access to videos, and quizzes along with easy-to-read text. Study.com supports the curriculum especially if you are looking for grade-level appropriate materials for Social Studies and Science.
I use it in a brick-and-mortar classroom, when teaching and tutoring online, and even with high-level ESL students online. I love that the quizzes are short, yet leave the students with meaningful takeaways. I also love that if students get an answer incorrect, they get direct feedback to show them where in the passage or video the correct answer was discussed. It is definitely worth money!

I have decided to partner with Study.com as their mission is to strive to make education accessible to all.

Study.com is offering an academic award of $500 for current and prospective students enrolled in an accredited college or university in a number of states including but not limited to North Carolina, Florida, and Texas. They will be awarding over $50,000 in scholarships.

Selection will be based on academic history and extracurricular activities.
Must be an enrolled (or accepted) student in an accredited college or university in a participating state who is planning on continuing the next year.
Graduating high school seniors who meet the above mentioned criteria may apply.
Must have a minimum of 30 semesters or 45 quarter hours still to be completed.
Must consent to provide a digital photograph of self and quote for display on Study.com if notified as the award winner by the selection committee.
