Why Self-Marketing Should Be a Core Skill?

In a recent discussion with a colleague, we realized how many opportunities are lost simply because people don't know how to turn their challenges into compelling narratives.

Often, the most difficult experiences can serve as powerful testaments to one's resilience and capability.

Over the past months, I’ve leveraged my own life challenges to connect with a global network of high achievers.

The key takeaway? Learn to tell your story effectively.

Your story is your experience, and if told well, it can be as valuable as years of professional expertise. Here’s a simple framework to help you craft your narrative:

1. Identity (Who you are): Clearly state who you are, highlighting your role, background, or defining characteristics. This establishes your persona right from the start.

2. Authority (Why you are credible): Provide evidence of your expertise or experience. Mention accomplishments, qualifications, or experiences that underscore your authority in your field.

3. Association (Who supports or collaborates with you): Highlight any affiliations, collaborations, or endorsements. This not only validates your position but also connects you to a broader network or community.

4. Purpose (What you stand for or aim to achieve): Articulate your goals, mission, or values. This helps others understand what drives you and aligns them with your vision.

By weaving these elements together, you can create a compelling and comprehensive introduction that resonates with your audience, high network individual, targeted group of persons etc.

Start building your story now—it's only going to get more interesting.

DO YOU Want to Have Global Conversations?

My TRR formula was part of my global growth and journey.

One of the very interesting things you will always have me do is have useful conversations, relevant conversations, and timely conversations. If they are NOT comprised of these things then be sure that I cannot be part of it.

And so, every opportunity to have what I refer to as a healthy conversation was being part of a panel discussion of about 4 continents. The implication of this is that I have a voice that the world can relate to.

Q: Do you know what positions one for a global conversation?

A: Ensure that your conversations are real, relevant, and timely. Then they can be considered useful.

This is a call for you to audit every second conversation you are engaged with.

⬅️ Even when I am having fun, I audit them to ensure that they are real fun, relevant fun, and timely fun. I cannot be caught doing things that do NOT contain TRR.

Career Growth in 3 Steps.

YOU NEED TO READ 📖 THIS.📌👌🏾

The things I did to optimize my career were NOT so technical but rather they were structured. You can do the same. It was a giant leap for me and these things can be reproduced. This is 12 years summary in one word.

A few years ago, I made a decision that I was going to improve certain dimensions of my life. I started with the spiritual dimension. And so, I enrolled in a short course at my church. We were thought to grow in the knowledge of three major areas before we begin to speak about spiritual growth.

1. Self.
2. Enemy.
3. Weapon of warfare.

Fast forward to when I was done with that phase and I wanted to also improve my career path. Again, I enrolled in a career program where I became a Certified Career Analyst, CCA.

During and after my learnings, I came up with a fast-track model of what you need to do to optimize and be at the peak of your career per time and season.

1. Research yourSELF.
2. Research your SKILLS.
3. Research your ENVIRONMENT ♻️.

Now, let's do a quick comparison to the former.
Question: Is it different?
Answer: No

I hope you were able to see that growth is possible, it is reproducible. The words knowledge and research were used as a synonym.

What are you working on Now? YourSelf, YourSkills or YourEnvironment

Talent is Never Enough💯

Two decades ago, I had just gained admission into one of the most prestigious universities 🎓 in Nigeria, . And so, I will have taught that access to that university will be all that I need for excellence.

Well, this story is not about the university. 🧠. However, upon getting to the school, I saw numerous ways I could use up my talents and

I knew I was eloquent at delivering speeches 💭 and I can table my points.

🤨 To date, only a few of my friends would believe that I am a shy person. It's contrasting. How can you be shy yet speaks so well?

Anyways, I was not surprised at these skills because I had won 🏆 a state prize for debating at my elementary school. I also represented my department at a science conference.

My pain in this story was that

👉I did not always show up. I did not give my talent the required exposure.
👉 I was being conservative about what people train themselves to become better at. I did not flaunt what I had.
👉 I didn't know how to navigate my science career so that it fits into what my talents were.
👉 I didn't develop them as it should be.

Fast forward to NOW, the single thing that has given me global visibility and relevance is my eloquence particularly when I discuss subject matters.

From my exposure to this point of excellence, I can confirm again that having talent is NOT enough.

My advice: Learn how to optimize it.

Reference: A friend from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 and another from Chicago 🇺🇲 became my friend during a conference because I have learned how to remain visible and valuable through

10,000 Hours Rule.

This picture does not capture how I will like to portray what power real, relevant and timely information holds. But I am sure you can tell that the picture means a lot of things to several people based on perspective.

This is me celebrating my global relevance in an expression of liberty.

My Journey is a story that most people love to listen to.

The part where:

👉 I have tried pieces of my career for 15 years.

👉 I had to take myself through a journey of self-leadership without mentorship.

👉 I had to read at least 8 hours every day just for the love of research.

👉 I had to do 4 jobs and delivered excellently without either of them being at a disadvantage.

👉 I had to take on being an information ambassador and speak for at least 2 hours daily. I speak to young leaders 👑 that need career navigation.

All of these contributed to my global advantage and I look back to say, I am grateful for my 10,000 hours of rising through

Exposure
Experience
Expertise
Excellence.

At this point, I own the end of my story. I am the writer. I have made an optimal decision and I am on a journey.

Here is my 10,000 hours rule story.
